Taverham Evangelical Church marks 20 years
A church in Mid Norfolk will celebrate 20 years of ministry with a series of anniversary events on the weekend of the 4th and 5th February.
Taverham Evangelical Church (TEC) held its first service in a small room in the local village hall on 9th February 1992, inspired by a vision to take the good news of Jesus to their local community. 20 years on and that continues to be the driving force of the church - encouraging local Christians to live, worship, share and minister to their neighbours where they are.
The weekend of celebration will begin at 6.30 pm on Saturday 4th February with a 20th Anniversary Party at Taverham Village Hall. Invited guests will be treated to great food, a barn dance, a children’s entertainer and a special ‘TEC, This is Your Life’ trip down memory lane.
The Sunday Celebration Service at 11am in Taversham Village Hall is an open invitation to the local community to celebrate the goodness of God over the last 20 years. The service will be followed by a buffet lunch.
Fran Tregay, Senior Pastor of Taversham Evangelical Church, said: “As we now look forward to the next 20 years of ministry we thank God for the hundreds of men, women and children that have been part of our church life and family since we began. We thank God for those that found salvation at TEC and for those who have discovered and developed their ministry with us.
“Though Network Norwich and Norfolk we would like to extend an invitation to all friends of TEC, past and present, to come and join us on the Sunday morning.”
Taversham Evangelical Church is pleased to be a member of Churches Together in Taverham, Thorpe Marriott and Drayton, where all the local churches combine their strengths and resources for the benefit of the community.
