Camping out with North Norfolk Methodists

Youth groups with young people between 10 and 19 years old are invited to “Beyond Ourselves”, a fun-filled weekend of camping, teaching, workshops, food and activities, at Smallburgh in North Norfolk this May.

There will be a praise party for 10 to 12 year olds on the Saturday afternoon run by John Hardwick (pictured, right). John “juggles, sings and tells stories for his King!” He is a Creative Christian Communicator whose aim isto present the Christian faith in an exciting and relevant way!  John travels widely, leading Family Praise Parties, Creative Communications Training sessions, RE Days and assemblies in Primary Schools, All-age celebrations, and Holiday Clubs.

The teaching programme will be presented by Jodie Collins, an evangelist who heads up the charity “Beyond Ourselves” which sets out to “make a difference beyond themselves”, both at home and abroad. Jodie has spent 4 years working at “The Living Room Christian Centre” in the heart of Tenerife.

Workshops will include “Puppetry in Worship” by Chris Loades, Music by Alternative Progressive Epic Christian Indie Pop-Rock band ‘Broken For’,  and “Art and Craft in Worship” by Gina Luckwell and Anne Russen.

On Sunday morning there will be an open act of worship where members of participating churches will be welcome to come and join in, followed by a Hog Roast.

The camp takes place at Toads Green Farm, Smallburgh and will run from 4pm on Friday May 11  until  2pm on Sunday May 13. Day visitors on the Saturday will be welcome. (Subject to available places). Young people will be accompanied by their Youth Leaders who will be responsible for their group’s equipment, kit and any medication for any of the young people in their group. Young people wishing to join in, but are not part of a youth group will be allocated a group and group leader. (Subject to available places).

The cost for the weekend for young people and leaders is just £15 per person as generous donations have enabled the cost to be kept down. Day visitors are £5.

To book a place for yourself or your youth group, or to get more information, phone  Anne on 01263 768558 or Gina on 01692 500329. Anne’s e-mail is anne_russen001@yahoo.co.uk
