Dereham Churches lead Diamond Celebration
 Dereham Churches Together are part of a partnership of groups leading a town wide celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
A rallying call has been issued to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee in style in Dereham – with the town’s biggest-ever barbecue and a huge community party.
Plans are under way to close off the Market Place on Sunday, June 3 and to have a range of entertainment and a mass singing of the National Anthem. It is hoped a wide range of local organisations will join in, and they are being urged to come forward.
Jon Beardon, Lead Elder of Wellspring Family Church in Dereham is chairing a planning group for the event. He said: “We want to invite as many groups and organisations local to Dereham to come together in a great collaboration and host Dereham’s biggest-ever BBQ.”
