NCCT

Covenant of NCCT

This is the covenant of Norwich Central Churches Together, signed in February 1993.

We declare our common belief as Christians in the love of God, the Lordship and saving grace of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

We further believe that the unity of His Church is the will of God, and that we can forward this unity locally by working together more and more closely.

We are encouraged in this by the commitment of our church leaders to “Churches Together in England" seeking a deepening of their communion with Christ and with one another in the Church, which is His body, and to fulfil their Mission to proclaim the Gospel by common witness and service in the world”..

We therefore, as PILGRIMS TOGETHER commit ourselves to:
  •  undertake joint training, study and mission in this Decade of Evangelism and beyond
  • encourage the growth of neighbourhood groupings of churches for fellowship, study and action
  • support one another in the ministry of care for the whole community
  • pray regularly for each other and for the unity of Christ's church
  • come together from time to time in acts of public worship and witness.
We recognise that in the unity we seek there will also be diversity. So we rejoice in the rich variety of our heritage and remain loyal to our denominations.

We set out as Pilgrims Together, determined not to be discouraged by difficulties which are sure to come. We shall continue to pray and work for the unity of the whole Church, and the reconciliation of all humankind.

We welcome all to share in this work of our Lord Jesus Christ.
