Congregation return to new-look Norwich church

PrincesStURCRefurb390Palm Sunday saw the newly refurbished Princes Street United Reformed Church in Norwich welcome back its congregation for the first time in many months.

The March 29 service was led by Rev Dr Michael Dunford, who chaired the Church Development Project Committee, and was attended by more than 80 people. For many it was the first opportunity to look around and check out the new facilities.

The revamp included removing the church pews to create more space and building a glass screen to create a modern welcoming area at the front of the church. New meeting rooms, a new kitchen block and other facilities have also been included.

Part of the original building was sold to the Norwich University of the Arts which helped fund the alterations.

The church is now looking forward to the opportunities which the refurbished buildings afford.

For many months, the congregation has been worshipping at Trinity United Reformed Church which has enabled them to get to know one another better. Jessopp Road URC and Norwich Central Baptist Church have offered hospitality to members of the Luncheon Club, which has also meant new friendships and closer links which will continue into the future.
