Christian leaders invited to unity event in Norwich

IfLgo450Christian leaders from across Norfolk are being invited to a new unity event in Norwich with the aim of collective repentance and seeking God.

The evening, organised by Radical Church Norwich, takes place at St Stephen’s Church in Norwich on February 23, from 7 to 10pm, and church and Christian ministry leaders are invited to attend.

Radical Church pastor, Steve Maylam, said: “For some time now we've had an event in our hearts, which is aimed at all church/ministry leaders in the Norfolk area, coming together in one place and in unity. And believe now is the right time to follow it through. The original idea for this event has been taken from the bible passage Ezekiel 34:1-10, and the event name idea from 2 Chronicles 7:14.

“We believe that sometimes unity can be tokenistic, unless there is a common purpose.  Our common purpose is glorifying Jesus. However the main focus for this event is for leaders of different churches, to repent and seek God.  Not only for the people of this region, as did Nehemiah in 1:6. But also for any past mistakes in leadership, and collective relationship,” said Steve.

“There are many scriptures in the bible which give the instruction 'If' we do this... Our God will respond in this way... We believe 'If' we repent collectively and seek God, He will respond as He has promised. Positive work is already being done in the background for church leaders to come together. However we believe this will be significant, in seeing God moving through His people, in this region.
