Town Pastors appeal for Latitude festival artist
An appeal has been put out for a budding artist to take part in a live painting project in the Town Pastors cafe at the well-known Latitude music festival in Suffolk in mid July.
The Christian Town Pastors project, from both Norfolk and Suffolk, provides a team of Festival Pastors who patrol the Latitude music and arts event, helping to keep festival-goers safe. They are offering a fantastic opportunity to a budding artist to paint canvas panels around the cafe on a Christian-based theme during the festival and are offering a ticket to the festival and food in return.
Latitude Festival Pastors volunteer General Manager, Barry Willson, said: ”Latitude is an arts festival, and we'd like our chill-out zone to feature an artist at work producing canvas-based images while customers are accessing refreshments served by our volunteers.
”The role would suit someone who would love to contribute to the Festival atmosphere and work alongside the Christian ministry provided by Festival Pastors at Latitude. We would be asking them to produce good quality Christian-themed artwork on canvas, similar to that shown in the picture.
”Our entire team is made up of volunteers. We cannot pay remuneration, but we would be able to offer a ticket to the festival, a hot meal each day and a space to pitch a tent (albeit in a "cosy" compound). Some funds could be made available towards the cost of travel and materials,” said Barry.
The Festival runs from Thursday July 13 to Sunday July 16 and ideally the artist would be available on site from Wednesday lunchtime on July 12 until the weekend.
