Day of prayer for peace in Norwich cathedral

2006: NorwichCathedralThe Christian Socialist Movement has organised a day of prayer for peace and world events in Norwich Cathedral on September 27.

CSM is an ecumenical group and is very appreciative of the Cathedral’s help in holding prayers in St Luke's chapel, said spokesperson Gail Stanley.

“It is hoped this will become an annual event moving around city churches, and in view of this there is a link this time with the St Vincent de Paul Society from the Catholic Cathedral of St John the Baptist on Earlham Road, where simultaneous prayers will be taking place, also open to all,” she said.

“On September 27 St Vincent de Paul is remembered for his life and work to help the poor and marginalised which continues to inspire people.”

St Luke’s Chapel at Norwich Cathedral will be open for prayer from 7.30am to 5.30pm and all are welcome at any time.

The CSM aims to be a Christian voice to the Labour Party and allows people to share ideas. It has formed Christians in Politics (CiP) jointly with the recognised Christian groups within the Conservative and Liberal Democrat Parties to encourage Christians in general to take part in local and national government.

Services in Norwich Cathedral on September 27 are as follows, Morning Prayer (7.30am), Holy Communion (8.00 am and 12.30pm), Evensong (5.15 pm), in case you wish to combine these in your visit to the Cathedral.

Hi Gail
Hope you are well.

I read the webpage, but I don't vote. I am curious about the impact of Christians in Politics.

My interest includes Domestic Violence during and after marriage. I am a survivor, but certain groups/help services tend to bias against Men. Did you see the BBC3 programme "Dangerous Love?"

Keep up the good work.
