New Norwich blog-watcher is appointed
Network Norwich has appointed a new blog-watcher to surf the worldwide web and keep you in touch with what’s happening out there which may be of interest to the Norwich Christian community.
Heather Cracknell is a blogger herself since January 2005, and will be keeping track of the conversations and topics being discussed on the many blogs on the internet maintained by those with links to the Norwich Christian community.
Heather attends St Augustine’s church in Norwich, is a Youth for Christ volunteer, a Norwich City season ticket holder, mother of two and will become a trustee of Norwich charity Dreams & Visions early in the new year.
“If you're interested in the world of blogs, eager to keep up with conversation happening in the blogosphere - or if the word 'blog' leaves you blinking slowly in incomprehension – I hope to be of help,” said Heather.
"Blogs in their simplest form are on-line journals, but those that are the most interesting are those that go beyond purely personal stuff, family photos and the like, to become space for people to explore their thoughts, opinions and perspectives," said Heather.
"Once they've posted their thoughts, others can comment and question, so people's perspectives are influenced and shaped by others. It’s truly interactive, in a similar way to a forum, but each blog will have its unique flavour because each blogger has different interests and styles.”
“People blog about a huge range of subjects - there's a blog about anything you can imagine if you search hard enough! The Norwich Christian bloggers will post on anything from church, digital photography, eco-issues, philosophy, cycling, films, music and books, current affairs, art, gigs and their day-to-day lives - I can't remember a day when I've not been made to smile or made to think by reading blogs."
If you have a blog which you would like Heather to cover for the Network Norwich website or you see something which you think deserves wider attention, please e-mail details to Heather
