Norwich city centre congregations marked 15 years of praying together on a regular basis in January 2007.

Members of Norwich Central Churches Together congregations have met once a month to pray for the city and the work of their churches within the city walls for the last 15 years.

On the third Wednesday of each month, they have gathered in each of the 19 places of worship in turn, for prayers in the style of worship of that particular congegation - from a sung liturgy to Quaker silence, from set prayers to free prayer as is a custom in URC churches.

The banner of Norwich Central Churches Together, of embroidered panels, each an emblem of one of the congregations or of NCCT itself, now hangs in the Chapel of Unity in St John’s Roman Catholic Cathedral.

Ecumenical prayers will be held there on the third Wednesday of each month, at 1pm. The mixed diet will be led by members or clergy of the 19 congregations in turn, but always at the same time and place.
