Norfolk Christian football season set to kick off

The new Norfolk Christian Football League adult season will kick off on Saturday September 23 with the largest number of teams for a number of years.

League secretary Paul Nice said: “For the first time in several years, the number of competing teams will be in double figures.  Heigham Park Rangers (St Thomas's, Norwich) are the defending champions and cup winners.  Undoubtedly, they will be strong again and all the other teams will be working hard to topple them.

“The remaining teams in the league, and their sponsors, are; City Gates Athletic (City Gates church, Norwich), Eaton Eagles (Christ Church, Eaton), Gateway Vineyard (Gateway Vineyard church, Norwich), NCBC (Norwich Central Baptist Church), St. Johns (Norwich St John’s Cathedral), Soul FC (Soul Church, Norwich), South Walsham and South Walsham B (St Marys, South Walsham) and Stalham Baptist FC  (Stalham Baptist Church).

“There is still space for other teams to join the league and play in our cup competition in the early spring of 2024.  The league can help with the affiliation paperwork and finding a suitable church sponsor,” said Paul.
