Music and teaching week in North Norfolk

The Pleasaunce Christian holiday centre in Overstrand is hosting a residential event later this month run by Marilyn Baker and Tracy Williamson, and places are still available.

The event is called “Encountering God - experiencing His life changing presence through the Psalms” and runs from Monday 22 to Friday 26 April.

Marilyn became blind as a child, but soon demonstrated a gift for music, which took her to the Royal College of Music and on into a teaching profession. She had a longing to communicate her faith and began writing anointed songs. Her deep desire to help others discover the love that has so changed her life led her into Christian Ministry through music. During the past 30 years Marilyn has travelled around the world, becoming one of Britain’s most popular and well-loved singer-songwriters.
 
Author and speaker Tracy Williamson is Marilyn’s partner in this work, and her personal assistant. Early in life she suffered an illness which affected her hearing and sight, but nevertheless went on to achieve a BA (hons) degree. For many years Tracy has spoken at Marilyn’s concerts bringing testimony and prophetic insights, helping people to understand the love of God in a more personal way, also conducting teaching seminars on various subjects. Tracy has written several books, the eighth of which was published last September.
 
The Christian Endeavour Holiday Centre, The Pleasaunce, right, is situated close to the beach in Overstrand, two miles south-east of Cromer. It is a Grade II* listed mansion, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens for Lord and Lady Battersea.  The main house stands in 5 acres of walled grounds containing a chapel, cloisters, sunken and rose gardens and a clock tower.  The grounds extend to the cliffs overlooking Overstrand’s sandy beach. Accommodating up to 80 guests, the Centre is an ideal destination for holidaymakers, conference groups, weekend/mid-week breaks, school parties and retreats.
 
Prices are £386 for a standard room and £446 for ensuite, all full board. Day guests are invited too, for one or more full days, or even half a day. Please phone or email for prices.
