Wake-up call at East Anglia FGB convention

A 'spiritual wake-up call'  to be more radical for Jesus Christ was the theme brought by the main speakers at  this year's FGBMFI East Anglia Regional Convention, held in Norwich.

An overflow audience of members and friends attended the opening Friday night dinner at the Quality Hotel, Norwich, in March to hear the amazing salvation and healing testimony of Esteban Antonio, described by the Observer newspaper as the world's greatest flamenco guitarist.

In all, Spanish-born Esteban and his Hungarian wife, Erika, a concert violinist, ministered at six different venues over the convention/outreach weekend.

Their listeners ranged from local prison inmates - who flocked forward for prayer ministry - to civic leaders at a VIP banquet, attended by more than 170 people. Local press and radio programmes highlighted Esteban's visit to the region. One paper described their presentation as "enthralling."

Convention organisers were also encouraged by those FGB members who responded wholeheartedly to the spiritual wake-up call.  Hotel visitors and staff on the edge of the event also made commitments to Christ, while FGB members received personal words of encouragement, healing and prophesy.

Main speakers at the convention sessions on the theme 'Walking as Jesus walked'  included the Rev, Chris Hill, prophetic Bible teacher, and Paul Szkiler, a London business leader.

Both Chris and Paul urged FGB members to step out more boldly in faith as they submitted to God's Word and His Holy Spirit.

"The 2007 East Anglia Convention was a great blessing," commented Bob Waters, president of the Waveney Valley group. Bob also helped lead worship sessions along with Pastor Mark Watson and Susan Watson, worship leaders at Norwich City Church.
