Back teenage duo in 500-mile charity cycle
Two Norfolk teenagers are set to cycle over 500 miles across Europe to raise money for a development charity and a church youth project.
Faced with weeks of holidays after exams, Samuel Knight (aged 18) and Toby Limbach (16) are planning to cycle 525 miles around Northern Europe starting on June 30.
The duo are raising money for two good causes. The first is charity Harvesthelp, which helps rural communities in Africa. They work from the roots and hire local workers, encouraging self-reliant and sustainable living. This small and quiet charity has already helped many people.
Part of the sponsorship will also go to support youth work in the Bramerton Group of churches in South Norfolk known as BYRUS in which Samuel and Toby are both active members.
“BYRUS helps young people develop in our area,” said Samuel. “It will provide equipment, opportunities and guidance to the youth of South Norfolk.”
“We will start in Norwich on June 30 and head to Dover before crossing the channel, and then head northeast through Belgium and Holland,” said Toby. “After a staggering 525 miles, we will arrive back at Norwich on day 11. Please support us as we strive to help those less fortunate than ourselves.”
Donations for Harvesthelp can be given online at:
Donations for BYRUS (cheques made payable to Yelverton PCC youth work) can be sent to 8 St Georges Close, Thurton, Norfolk, NR14 6AY. Alternatively, call Toby on 01508 480440 or Sam on 01508 480738 and they promise to collect it on their bikes.
