Ex-money market dealer tells of his faith

DuncanMacinnesWeb2007: Duncan MacInnes, a former merchant banker and money market dealer was the speaker at the lunch organised by the Norwich Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship at the Maids Head Hotel, Norwich, on Thursday August 16, at 1pm.

Duncan was born in Dufftown in Scotland in 1953 and left school at 16 to join the Royal Bank of Scotland. He worked with them for six years before seeking his fortune in London by joining Merchant Bankers, N M Rothschild & Sons.

He worked as a dealer in the London Money Markets and progressed to being chief dealer in charge of hundreds of millions of pounds. After 20 years of dealing, Duncan took on the role of assistant director with responsibility for UK sales of financial products and successfully ran this for five years.

In 2001, seeking a new direction in life, Duncan and his family moved to Norwich and have spent six happy years in Thorpe St Andrew. He had various plans on arriving in Norfolk but didn't foresee God radically changing his life. Duncan is now involved with charity and community work in Norwich includng the Norwich Besom project.

At the lunch, Duncan talked about his work and his faith as part of the regular series of Norwich FGBMFI monthly events held at the Maid’s Head Hotel on Tombland in the centre of Norwich.

The lunches (from 1-2pm) are aimed largely at people who work in the city and are designed to fit in a standard lunch hour with a half-hour meal followed by a 30-minute talk.

The cost to attend the lunch is £6 and all are welcome.
