Christian Socialist Movement in Norfolk
Introduction
The Norfolk and Norwich Branch of the Christian Socialist Movement is both the local presence of the national Christian Socialist Movement, as well as being a gateway for those wishing to bring Christian values to bear on the way we live, and the way we are governed.
Type/scope of work
The local CSM group organises speakers on general interest political subjects open to all in the local Christian community. An annual prayer vigil open to all is also held. Other events and discussions may be arranged from time to time.
Aims/purposes The CSM nationally aims to be a Christian voice to the Labour Party, contributing to policy forums and debates. It has formed Christians in Politics (CiP) jointly with the recognised Christian groups within the Conservative and Liberal Democrat Parties to encourage Christians in general to take part in local and national government.
This includes raising awareness and encouraging people to see how they can serve others through politics, from using their vote through to becoming a local councillor or even an MP.
How can people help you/get involved? It is not necessary to be a member to be involved, please see Network Norwich for news of event and activities. New members to the local group are always welcome and can be added to a mailing list for local events. For more local details contact: andrewdickie@cooptel.net
