Flowers, food and social action mark jubilee

StFrancisThorpeJULY 2007: St. Francis Church, Heartsease, Norwich, has celebrated its Golden Jubilee with flowers, youth social action and a free community barbecue with the help of the Sheriff and the Bishop of Norwich.
 
The church began its 50th anniversary celebrations on Friday July 19, 2007, when the Sheriff of Norwich opened a weekend flower festival and on Sunday morning, July 22, the Bishop of Norwich, The Rt. Revd Graham James preached in the presence of the Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Norwich and the Sheriff of Norwich and his Lady.
 
StFrancisThorpeSignAll week, the Reality II youth programme provided a series of events for young people focused on service to the community.
 
On Wednesday 25th at 9.30am there was a service of Holy Communion for St James’ Day.
 
The week of celebrations was rounded off on Friday July 27 with a free community barbecue and family entertainment.
