A Christian father from Lowestoft has just published a book telling how he came to faith and how it helped him when his two teenage daughters died in a tragic car accident two years ago.

A12 to Heaven is Phil Stoddart’s account of the tragedy which happened in July 2006, when his two daughters Claire and Jenny, 18 and 15, were both killed in a horrific crash on the A12 near Blythburgh, which also claimed the lives of two other people.

They had been travelling home from a pop concert in Ipswich, organised to celebrate the end of their exams.

Phil Stoddart talks about his daughters Claire and JennyThe day after, friends and family had planned to attend Lowestoft Community Church for Jenny's baptism.

Phil will be telling his story to the congregation at Oak Grove Chapel in Norwich on Fathers’ Day, June 15, when the book is launched.

The Oak Grove service will focus on fathers and Emma Philpotts of Radio Norwich will interview Phil (pictured right) who will, through the interview, tell of the tragedy and about how his family and church went through this hard journey and what it means for him as a dad.

Phil said: “The two girls had grown so close to each other, it was almost as if they had been travelling on parallel roads that had now converged. One night they were travelling together on one road: it turned out to be a narrow one that led straight to heaven.

A12ToHeaven“The book shows plainly the wisdom and benefits of forgiveness and not blaming or questioning God in times of trouble. In this book you will discover the power in the joy of knowing Christ.”

A12 to Heaven will be available for purchase after the service (priced £7.99) and all are welcome to attend on Sunday June 15, 10am, Oak Grove Chapel @ The Hub, Catton Grove Primary School, Weston Road, Norwich. For further details please telephone 10603 403388.
