Journey of the Magi show at Norwich church

Following on from the success of A Monk’s Tale, Together Loving Christ Church in Drayton is delighted to be hosting a performance of Journey of the Magi by Europe’s foremost professional Christian dance company, Springs Dance Company on December 8.

The performance is an ingenious mix of dance and theatre, and is an ideal opportunity to provide the community with a festive social event.

Inspired by T.S. Eliot’s poem Journey of the Magi, the performance helps audiences reflect on not only the famous journey the wise men made following the star to Jesus, but also the journey each of us makes every year in preparing for Christmas Day. Through exploring images in the poetry, the dance company have devised a presentation of some of the all too familiar processes we go through and witness, in dealing with the expectations and realities of the festive season. The show is a mix of laugh-out-loud funny, moving and entertaining scenes that also provoke consideration for change.

Journey of the Magi is a sparkling production of dance, theatre, song and poetry. It will be performed for one night only at Together Loving Christ Church, Drayton Hall, Hall Lane on December 8th at 7pm.

It is a family show accessible to all, being fun for the younger ones, thought provoking for the adults - and will encourage those unaccustomed to dance to come along and enjoy the fun.

All tickets £8

‘Forget The Nutcracker, Springs Dance Company's Journey of the Magi is the best Christmas show I have ever seen! I went along to see it one dark, wet and dismal night in Birmingham and I came out having been touched, amused and moved to tears. Journey of the Magi looks beyond the tinsel and trappings and reveals the real meaning of Christmas.’ - David Bintley CBE, Artistic Director, Birmingham Royal Ballet

‘Brilliant, multi-talented show with depth, passion and an inspired storyline. We laughed, cried and understood what words alone cannot convey but dance can!’ - Shaun Switlenbouk
