Christmas at Cromer Church reaches thousands
2018: Over the Christmas period more than 3,000 people came to the special Christmas services in Cromer Parish Church, besides those visiting for the Tree Festival and on other occasions.
Once again, Christmas in Cromer proved to be an amazing time for locals and visitors alike. The town was bejewelled with fantastic Christmas lights, the streets were busy with shoppers and there was a great 'feel good' atmosphere wherever you went. Many local people freely gave of their time, energy and resources to make things happen during the festive season and we all pulled together as a team to make Christmas in Cromer a special time.
This also proved to be the case at Cromer Church. The church was full of lights, trees, wreaths and nativity scenes for the Tree Festival and then adorned with 250 Christingle candles for the two services on Christmas Eve.
Simon Fenn, head of Mission, said “All through December and into January the church was very busy with people coming along to special services, popping in for a drink or to meet friends and sometimes to sit a while and be still in the beautiful building. The atmosphere in and around the church was very special, sometimes buzzing with chatter and laughter and at other times still and peaceful as people reflected on the Christmas story.
“The Cromer Church family hopes that all those who came to the church over recent weeks enjoyed their visit and we hope you might like to visit us again, a warm welcome will always be there for you. We have a whole range of regular and special services and events for people of all ages coming up. We would like to thank everyone in the community for once again making Christmas in Cromer so special and we wish everyone a very Happy New Year."
