Going for gold with Norfolk Christian charity

TriathlonIt's a team effort for seven Norfolk Christians who will be taking part in a triathlon in order to raise money for Norwich Youth for Christ.

The race on July 3 involves swimming, cycling and running and is based at Whitlingham Country Park in Trowse.
Two teams will compete in the Olympic Relay. Year-out volunteer Mikey Davie and local RE teacher James Wilson will be swimming 1500m. Gateway Vineyard member and experienced Christian youth worker Chris Elsdon and NYFC Fusion worker Paul Roast will then cycle 38km. Chris Starling, another year-out volunteer, and Dan Brocklehurst from Norwich Central Baptist Church will complete the race with an 11km run.

NYFC's newest member of staff, Pete Tyson, will also complete the ‘sprint’ triathlon: 750m swim, 18km cycle and 5km run.
The triathlons are being completed to raise money for the work of Norwich Youth for Christ, whose mission is to take the good news relevantly to every young person.

NYFC currently regularly works in seven schools, runs a gospel choir, supports local youth workers, develops youth events and clubs, has 5 discipleship groups and loads more!

Director of norwich YFC Mark Tuma said, "The work we do is demanding in many ways, not least financially. We are blessed to be supported by regular givers who financially help in the work we do. To keep the current work going and to develop the ways we take the good news to young people, we would love your support."
