10,000 Christians in Norfolk show they care

Celebrate14WhoCares450More than 10,000 Christians across Norfolk will be involved in the Who Cares? Mission listening phase over the next three months either praying or asking the One Question Survey.

Following months of coordination and detailed planning the Who Cares? Listening Phase started with a bang on June 1, when scores of Norfolk churches outlined the programme to their people who are now taking this One Question Survey to their local communities.

Brian Fawcett from Who Cares?, said: “Who Cares? is about churches working together to listen to the needs of local people and offer compassion and hope. We don’t claim to have all the answers but we represent a community which cares and want to listen and respond to the issues that people are facing. Following completion of the Listening Phase, from September 2014 onwards churches will be responding to the issues raised in a whole range of ways.”

In the next three months over 10,000 Christians will be involved praying for the survey and becoming actively involved within their local communities asking “What Hurts the Most?”. All the answers received will be anonymous and will be confidentially logged and categorised to assist local churches respond to some of the most important challenges in life today.

Brian said: “The sad fact is that many people feel like no-one cares about their problems. Tragically, a recent Red Cross survey revealed that as many as a third of British adults feel they have no-one to turn to in a crisis. The Church is a community that does care unconditionally for the suffering and plight of every person. Today churches across Norfolk and beyond are asking “What Hurts the Most?” seeking to respond with love and hope.”

At the recent Celebrate Norwich & Norfolk event held at the Forum in Norwich, over 400 people completed this one question survey; look out for a church near you and be prepared to answer “What Hurts The Most?”

From July 28, thousands of young people are coming to the Newday festival at the Norfolk Showground, faithfully serving local churches in reaching their communities.

After the completion of this phase local churches will have up-to-date relevant information to help them in their quest to help our hurting communities.
