Norfolk #NewRevs ordained to serve community

TasValleyCross450The Church of England will be ordaining nearly 1000 men and women this summer including 18 in Norfolk this weekend.

On Saturday July 5 and Sunday July 6, the Bishop of Norwich and the Bishop of Thetford will be ordaining Deacons into the church – putting on their dog collars for the first time - and welcoming other candidates into the priesthood at services across the county.

These Diaconate candidates will have just completed their training and will be taking their first steps towards entering the priesthood.

Family, friends and congregations will be attending the service in support of these men and women dedicating their lives to the service of the church.

The candidates come from a range of backgrounds, each bringing unique life experiences to their ministries.

As part of the celebrations across the country, those being ordained, their friends, family congregations and clergy are being encouraged to use twitter to congratulate and celebrate with the tag #NewRevs.
