Norfolk churches join global prayer initiative

Relational Mission leaders are calling people to gather in churches throughout 2015 for worship and prayer and say that they have had enough!

relationalmissionlogoEnough is an initiative that aims to get hundreds of people worshiping and praying together across the globe, this radical call is best explained by Mike Betts. “At our Leadership Conference in May 2014 we held an amazing prayer evening, where more than 600 of us stood side by side for an evening and called out to God together to move powerfully in our local churches and across the nations. That evening represented a key stepping stone in our journey as a family of churches; a taster night where God began stirring a deep cry within us, a warrior cry for God's intervention and action.

I believe there is an urgent need for us, as a family, to put a stake in the ground and say, That’s it! We've had Enough of the poverty, the dysfunction and the pain in our broken world.

But, importantly, we also need to realise and grasp that God is Enough, that he is sufficient and we do not need to go further than him to bring order and restoration to our broken world. His sufficiency is our confidence. We can come to him with big requests; requests that will see thousands of people come to know Christ.

Rather than trying to solve things ourselves, we simply need to invest in prayer and make prayer our number one priority. I am particularly stirred to revive corporate prayer and intercession in our local churches and bring us to a whole new level of intimacy with our living God. I am stirred to change the definition of heroes to include those who are diligently interceding and continually circling people and situations in prayer until there is breakthrough!”

There will be three evenings of prayer throughout 2015, commencing on Friday March 13, 2015 where churches across the UK, Holland and Germany will gather to enjoy a family meal, worship and pray. These are not just part of the church's prayer routine, but are extraordinary prayer meetings. Further meetings are scheduled on Friday June 19, 2015 and Friday November 13, 2015.

The events will be facilitated by a hub leader, with churches joining their local hub for the night. The evenings will be an exciting menu of ideas and approaches to provoke new ways of praying, to energise all about prayer and to remove some of the barriers some may feel about coming together to pray.

The local hubs for the first Enough prayer evening are Lowestoft Community Church in Lowestoft and King’s Community Church in Norwich
