Norfolk Christmas cards aid education project

AVES Christmas card 300CFLocally painted Christmas cards are on sale this year to raise funds for the John Aves Educational Project, and the charity will be taking part in a Christmas display at a Norwich church later in November.

The Project provides scholarships to help bright and disadvantaged young people to fulfil their potential, and continue their education in their own communities. It works with universities in the Holy Land to identify deserving students from Dheisheh Refugee Camp capable of making a positive impact. They are also continuing to develop links with other communities in the Holy Land to ensure they identify the most appropriate students. The project is supported by the Rt Rev Graham James, Bishop of Norwich.

The Christmas cards come in three designs - a Christmas wreath, Buxton Church (pictured above), and Candles. All three pictures were designed and painted by Helen Harrison. The cards, priced at £4.50 for 10, are on sale in the Norwich Cathedral shop and also at the Original Charity Christmas Card shop 6 The Arcade, Norwich.

This is the card shop's 50th year of opening. Folk are encouraged to come along and support the John Aves Educational Project (JAEP) and other local charities by buying Christmas cards from the shop. All the card sale proceeds go directly to the charities.
