A team from St Luke’s Church, Norwich has created a set of three, illuminated advent windows, on display at the front of their building which beautifully depict the nativity story.

The front of St Luke’s Church on Aylsham Road in Norwich is alight with the wonder of the nativity this Christmas.

A team from the church has crafted three advent windows, each lit from the perimeter.  Each window displays a silhouetted scene from the nativity, one of the Magi, one of the shepherds and one of Mary and Joseph with the baby Jesus.

Jill Dyer led the project after seeing similar advent windows displayed in the village of Saltaire in West Yorkshire.  With the help of Sam Pittam-Smith, Martin Smith, Robbie Harris and Martin Harris, the team completed the project with the third window going on display this week.

StLukesAdventWindow3Jill said: “We hope and pray that it will share the message of Christmas with those who pass by.”

The windows will be on display until January 8.
