Christian band and dance team to visit Yarmouth
2017: Youth for Christ touring band The Sense along with the Stance dance team will be visiting venues in Great Yarmouth from February 5 to 10. Tony Rothe reports.
The Sense and Stance will be working in Gt Yarmouth High School from February 6 to 10, taking lessons and assemblies using their music and dance to present the gospel in a relevant and thought-provoking way to the young people of Gt Yarmouth.
Alison Roberts from East Norfolk Youth for Christ, who are organising the tour, said “We are very grateful to Mrs Galloway and the Senior Leadership of Gt Yarmouth High School who, over the last 8 years have invited East Norfolk YFC to bring this team of young Christian adults into the school, on an annual basis, giving the pupils even more opportunities to engage on different levels, whether through music, dance or just chatting through issues they are facing as they transition from childhood to adult life.”
The Sense and Stance will be leading worship at Park Baptist Church, 14A Crown Road, Gt Yarmouth, on Sunday February 5. Their service starts at 10.45am.
They will also be taking part in the Unite Youth Cafe on Wednesday February 8 which runs every week from 3.30-5pm during term-time for young people of high school age.
The Sense will also be getting alongside young people at Emmanuel Church’s youth club (Connect) on Northgate Street, Gt Yarmouth from 4.30-6.30pm on Friday February 10.
This is the first touring year for Youth for Christ’s brand new band, the Sense. YFC have a rich heritage in delivering mission through music and this touring band will be a great way to reach more young people around Britain. The team will be managed and coached by two staff members, Joy and Andy Clark, who have been delivering music lead mission on the road for over 20 years.
The touring team travels from place to place, normally staying in a location for a week at a time. Mission will be delivered in schools, youth clubs and churches and will see a blend of performance, testimony and workshops. The aim is to deliver high quality music whilst holding true to the mission of Youth for Christ of taking Good News to every young person in Britain.
They are currently recruiting talented vocalists, guitarists, bass players, keyboard players, drummers, and rappers to join us on this exciting adventure, and invite those interested to get in touch.
