Belton church focuses on mental health for Norfolk Day
All Saints Church in Belton is hosting an event on Norfolk Day that celebrates local community spirit and focuses on understanding mental health with a range of discussions led by experts.
All Saints Church in Belton, East Norfolk is encouraging the local community to come together to hear from eight renown experts in the field of mental health, learning disabilities and dementia.
The church has teamed up with the local monthly magazine, The Village Voice, to host a free event on Norfolk Day, Friday, July 27, that will celebrate community and increase understanding of mental health.
With eight experts coming along to talk about topics such as bereavement, dementia, autism and substance abuse, it will be a chance to ask questions and find out more about topics that involve any community.
Anyone is welcome to come along for a session that interests them or stay for the whole programme. The event is split into two halves with Rev Rosie Bunn, Rector of All Saints Belton hosting the afternoon session from 2pm-5.30pm aimed at younger people and Dr Regi Alexander, Editor of The Village Voice hosting the evening focusing on issues relevant to the older generation.
Dr Regi Alexander said: “To have such a distinguished array of people come to our village and talk, discuss and be questioned about topics that affects us all in one way or another, we are very privileged.”
The programme includes sessions on:
Bereavement by Dr Kallur Suresh at 3.30pm
Autism by Professor Peter Langdon at 4pm
Pychological Therapies by Professor Shirley Reynolds at 4.30pm
Care Quality Commission by Dr John Devapriam at 5pm
Dementia by Professor Wendy Burn at 6.35pm
