Here be dragons at North Norfolk church
The ‘Inspired’ group of artists and craftspeople are planning something special for their annual exhibition at St Mary’s Church, Stalham. The 2019 exhibition, to be held during early May Bank Holiday, will be based on the theme ‘Revelation’.
Members of the group are busy exploring this theme in many fascinating ways. So what will they come up with? Geraldine Watson, the group’s leader, says “There’s a lot of interesting discussion including - biblical dragons, horses of the apocalypse, and hidden images. You’ll have to come and see for yourself what finally appears.”
The group meets once a month in St Mary’s church room. This is no ordinary craft meeting. The ‘Inspired’ group like to come up with something really original and meetings are often spent discussing individual projects which need input from different viewpoints.
“Working in a group like this makes you push the creative boundaries. We think outside the box, bounce ideas around and before you know it, you are tackling a project which stretches you to the limit!”, says member, Ros Wilson.
“The exhibition itself is always a joy” explains Geraldine. “Alongside our ‘Revelations’ will be an extensive exhibition of quilts, also items for sale and activities. We love to get people doing crafts and there are activities for all ages.”
The dates for your diary are 4th – 7th May, from 10am-4pm daily, (the only exceptions being from noon on the Sunday and up to noon on the Tuesday). Entry is free and there is an opportunity to win hand-crafted raffle prizes and enjoy refreshments.
Will there be dragons? Come and see!
