Rural Ministry Course for 2024

A rural ministry course ideally suited for those serving in Norfolk and Waveney

An excellent opportunity is available to gather with other ecumenical rural leaders to explore community, mission, evangelism & leadership in the context of a rural community.

Dr Ian Watson, County Ecumenical Officer for Churches together in Norfolk and Waveney (NWCT) says: ‘Are you pondering the future of your local church in our great rural county of Norfolk and Waveney? Do you want a better appreciation to lead your church through a period of great change and uncertainty?  If so, then this Churches Together in England (CTE) co-sponsored rural ministry course may be the ideal solution for you.”

There are two courses planned in 2024:

  • 1-2 May at Yarnfield, Staffordshire
  • or 2-3 Oct at King’s Park, Northampton

CTE’s Principal Officer for Mission and Evangelism, Rev Dr Ben Aldous, who leads part of the course says:

“Since the closure of
CTE Rural Churches Group we are keen to continue supporting those working both rurally and ecumenically. The RMC does exactly that, encouraging those in rural contexts to consider afresh the most important elements of rural ministry and mission and helping to support them in the journey.”

The course is run by the Arthur Rank Centre and the Methodist Church but leaders from any of CTE's national Member Churches are most welcome.

“All of the facilitated content was really useful, but if I had to single out one thing, it was the opportunity to meet and hear from others their experiences in or going into rural ministry.” (Rev John, Methodist minister)

The cost is £300 (full board)
