New church launch brings hope to Thetford

NigelGlendaWorthA church, which has been meeting in a Thetford pub, is set for a public launch in the town’s Carnegie Room next month.

Hope Church Thetford is a new Newfrontiers Christian church and is officially launching on Sunday May 15 at 3.30pm at the Carnegie Room in Cage Lane.

Church leader Nigel Worth said, "We're hoping for lots of grown-ups and children to our Launch Day.

"We'll have a youth band from Wymondham to help us with the worship, we've invited all the other churches along and there'll be plenty of tea and cakes!"

Nigel and his wife Glenda [pictured] moved to Norfolk from Braintree in Essex after they heard God's call to the exciting work in Thetford. The couple's Norfolk connection, however goes back to when they first met many years ago while serving on the Cromer and Overstrand beach missions.

Hope Church Thetford aims to reach out with God's message of hope to people in multicultural Thetford and to cut across all social and ethnic barriers in the town.

The church meets every week at the Bell Inn at 8pm on Tuesday evenings, and every fortnight on Sunday afternoons from May 22 onwards at 3.30pm at The Carnegie Room.

All are welcome to join them at the launch event and at any of their meetings.
