6000 head for Christian festival near Norwich

NewDay10awebMore than 6000 young Christians will be heading for the Newday event at the Royal Norfolk Showground over the next few days. Keith Morris reports.
Newday takes place between August 1 to 6 and will see delegates travelling from as far as Kenya, Turkey, Sweden, Czech Republic and Italy as well as right across the UK.
 
The event includes energetic worship, social action projects, relevant Bible teaching, great bands and the usual festival fun. It is hosted by Newfrontiers, a worldwide family of over 850 churches in over 60 nations around the world. These include more than 200 churches throughout the UK.
 
Shackleton350Speakers at this year’s event will include journalist and sports presenter Adrian Holloway, author of the best selling book The Shock Of Your Life and its sequel Aftershock and Joel Virgo, who helps lead Church of Christ the King in Brighton.
 
In the mornings and evenings the young people will be taking part in seminars and meetings together throughout the week and Newday has a variety of bands visiting for evening gigs, including:
 
Timothy Grimwade: aka E Tizz is an up and coming Gospel hip-hop sensation, who has worked with MOBO winner Jahaziel. www.myspace.com/etizzmusic
