Funding boost for Norwich charity's mission

StepHeart400Norwich Christian charity STEP, has received a major funding boost from the Church Urban Fund to help in its mission to create a safe environment for vulnerable women and to help rebuild broken lives.
Director of programmes at STEP (Standing Together Encouraging People), Theresa Cumbers, said: “The Church Urban Fund grant will allow us to expand in-depth the support for our Routes out Programme, a bespoke one-to-one offering our students the way forward, if they so desire. Our ministry as Christians is a series of opportunities to share the love of God in this world and we are so thankful for the tireless work that our volunteers and supporters continue to commit into.
“God has brought us a long way since 2007. Sitting in on some of our meetings always encourages us as we watch and listen to the women identify their challenges and propose solutions. Today, the women take responsibility for their well-being. Sometimes it is easy to get discouraged by the onslaught of problems and crisis but when we sit and watch the women speak with confidence, we are reminded that God is faithful to complete that which He begins and He is doing a great work among us at STEP.
“During our prayer time together we were reminded that ‘a bruised reed he will not break and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out’. God won’t step on you or toss you aside as useless, but will gently pick you up. God’s loving attributes are desperately needed in the world today. Through God’s Spirit, we can show such sensitivity to people around us, reflecting God’s goodness and honestly to them,” said Theresa.

“We are so thankful for those of you who are praying for the work of so many of our organisations who offer hope to those who are in need of love and support, we invite others to pray through the challenges that come with transformation. Thank you so much for your prayers and continued support.”
