Norwich Bishop set to umpire cricket match

BishopNorwichLynn450The Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham James, is to sharpen his adjudicating skills when he acts as umpire in a cricket match between two teams captained by his suffragan bishops on Saturday July 21 at 1.30pm at Langley School near Loddon.
The Bishop of Thetford, the Rt Revd Alan Winton, will captain a team of clergy and church members from the east of the Diocese, while the Bishop of Lynn, the Rt Revd Jonathan Meyrick, will muster a team from the west.

The Bishop of Norwich will ensure fair play and attempt to keep the peace.

The Chaplain to the Bishop of Norwich, the Revd Simon Ward, said: “We are very grateful to Langley School for hosting this event. This is the third year the fixture has taken place and with each side having won a game, there is everything to play for. The London Games have nothing to compare with this.”
