To support its new strategy based around their four priorities of schools work, the Arts, partnerships and resourcing others, Norwich YFC is boldly appealing for five hundred supporters to each give a month £5 in order to fund a full time schools worker.
Nick Blanch, Director of Norwich YFC (pictured right) explained: “We want to stay true to our vision and see it become a reality. In fact we want to see a whole generation of young people have access to the gospel, even if just once. We think the best way to do that is by employing a full time schools worker to deliver specific programs in every school in Norwich.
“There are huge opportunities in schools today and we have some great ideas up our sleeve – we just need to make them happen!”
The 500 Fivers appeal was launched at the Norwich Youth for Christ (YFC) Annual Thanksgiving evening in November. Since then the appeal has generated just over 60 Fiver supporters. It is a promising start to the appeal but the challenge is that another 440 Fiver supporters are required to successfully achieve their goal.
As well as asking people to give £5 per month, Norwich YFC are asking people to offer their support by praying for the appeal, by passing the idea on to someone else or by promoting it within their church.
