6000 youngsters attend Norfolk Christian event

NewDay10cWebOver 6000 young people are heading to the Royal Norfolk Showground today (July 29) to the newday Christian event to spend time together not only finding answers to the big questions of modern life but also being part of the solution.

Seminars they attend are relevant to their lives, uncompromising and straight-talking, tackling issues such as the existence of God, relationships, identity and forgiveness. Social action initiatives they take part in across the county will help change communities and will affect the lives of thousands of people in Norfolk. As well as clearing gardens, painting fences, and running a holiday club for the over 50s, newday delegates have been commissioned to paint a mural in a community garden designed by local children.

Newday spokesperson, Jo Kentish, said: “The newday delegates are here to camp, sing, learn, and have a great time with friends and make new ones along the way. When they’re not doing that they play sports, have water fights and sometimes sleep.

Newday kids“They come because it is fun, but also because it inspires them to live better in their generation: to love the lonely and support the disadvantaged. Their resolve is to have a positive impact on the next decade and see a newday in.”

newday 2013 takes place from Monday July 29 to Saturday August 3.

newday is a Christian festival which started in 2004. It is run by Newfrontiers, a worldwide family of churches with over 700 churches in over 60 nations around the world.
