Decide at Norfolk church with two campuses

Decide14 This Sunday a church with two campuses in Norwich and Downham Market will hear from the Founder of the International Justice Mission UK about human trafficking to kickstart a series of dynamic events called Decide14, giving people a weekly opportunity  to decide to live a better life.

On Sunday February 2 two linked Norfolk churches, Eternity Norwich and Downham Market Christian Fellowship (DMCF), will begin a 14 week series of events titled ‘Decide14’ in the run up to Easter Sunday.

Each weekly event will present people with opportunities to examine aspects of their lives and to realise that every choice has a consequence.

Paddy and Jennike VennerDecide14 is the initiative of Paddy Venner (pictured with wife Jennike), who has been Senior Pastor of both churches since Easter 2013, when DMCF who had no pastor asked him, as Leader for the AoG zone of Norfolk and surrounding counties, to lead the church in an advisory capacity.

Paddy Venner said: “Decide14 gives people an opportunity to make a God-connection for the first time, to involve themselves in church life to a new level and to decide to live a better life in general.  Eternity Norwich and Downham Market Christian Fellowship are contemporary churches that seek to awaken today's seekers to the reality of a God that understands people with real issues and real life circumstances.”

Decide14 will begin on Sunday February 2 with a talk called ‘Decide for Justice’ from Terry Tennens who has served as Founding Executive Director of International Justice Mission (IJM) UK since 2006.

Paddy said: “The IJM tackles human trafficking and sex slavery around the world and bring a hard hitting message of freedom and justice to Christ followers everywhere who need to be aware of this growing evil in their land. Everyone is welcome to come along to either church campus on Sunday to hear an important message for our times from the IJM.”

Terry Tennens contributes to the development of IJM's global strategy, provides counsel and support to IJM staff overseas, meets regularly with policy makers and is in demand as a public speaker across the UK to advance the cause of the violently oppressed.

About the link between the churches, Paddy said: “We decided to run both churches in parallel, so what is done at one in the morning happens at the other in the afternoon on Sundays. So in essence they are two campuses under one leader for now. This has already brought significant growth and new vision to DMCF, with decisions for Christ happening regularly.”

Other events in the Decide14 series include a talk on Deciding for Sexual Purity, Decide to Love, Decide to Trust and Decide to Come Alive.

Eternity Norwich meets at 10am every Sunday at 171 Earlham Green Lane, Norwich, NR5 8RF

Downham Market Christian Fellowship meets at 4pm at The Sovereign Centre, Sovereign Way, Downham Market, PE38 9SW

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
