Norwich dinner hears of China love story

GregJulieBright410An American language teacher and a gifted English linguist who first met in Beijing, China – and were subsequently married  – shared their uplifting story “of God’s absolute faithfulness” at a dinner evening at the Best Western Brook Hotel, Bowthorpe, on Friday, June 13, 2014.

Chicago-born Greg Bright and his English wife, Julie, now resident in Norwich, were guest speakers at this monthly inspirational dinner arranged by the Norwich Chapter of the Full Gospel Businessmen.

The Bright family – who have two teenage sons – also share a mutual love for motorcycles with sidecars, “an adventure on wheels” that first began when they spotted a “Steve McQueen-style” bike with sidecar, advertised in the Beijing Times.

Still keen motorcyclists, Greg and Julie are members of the Christian Motorcyclists’ Association in Norfolk.  Julie also teaches Mandarin in Norfolk schools and has also taught German and Italian to businessmen, as well as English to Chinese people. Greg, a language teacher-turned-plumber, is full of praise for Julie’s academic skills.

Following the June 13 dinner, the next Norwich dinner will be on Friday, July 11, with inspirational guest speaker Don Latham.
