Volunteers wanted for local Christian campsite

campsite2CFVoluntary worker/s are wanted during the summer months to manage a campsite in Suffolk owned by Vauxhall Christian Trust.

The campsite is owned by Vauxhall Christian Trust, a Registered Charity, and is situated at Vauxhall Farm, Great Wenham, near Ipswich.  It is set in lovely peaceful Suffolk countryside.   We are looking for a voluntary worker/s to manage the campsite.  We provide a three bedroomed static caravan on site for the worker/s use.
The camping season this year begins in May and runs to October.  Apart from the six weeks school holidays the campsite is occupied only at weekends, running from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
Duties will include arriving at the campsite a few hours before campers arrive and checking that everything is in order, such as checks on smoke alarms, turning on electric power, and carrying out routine monthly Legionnaires checks.  Welcoming groups on arrival, and making sure that the leaders are aware of all the safety policies.  When each group leaves, ensuring that everywhere is left clean and tidy.  Where necessary carrying out any additional cleaning.
Ideally we would like someone who is available for most of this period, but would welcome offers of help for shorter periods.  All travelling expenses and any out of pocket expenses will be paid.  DIY skills an advantage.
Vauxhall Christian Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and voluntary workers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be required to have an Enhanced DBS check in line with the Government’s  safer recruitment guidelines.
