newday celebrate two more years in Norfolk

newday big topThe large blue big top and the hundreds of tents and caravans on the Royal Norfolk Showground this week are hosting over 6,000 teenagers and 1,000 servers at the annual newday Christian festival.

newday was birthed in the vision of the Newfrontiers family of churches to restore the church; their heart is to see thousands of young people launch their lives into serving God and building his church all over the world.

The event is a six day camping event for 11-19 year olds with a strong Christian flavour throughout; starting in 2004 this years event is the seventh time it has been hosted in Norfolk, and it was recently confirmed that the event will continue on the Royal Norfolk Showground for the next two years.

With teaching, worship, sports and outreach; cafe’s, funfair, food, and much much more the event has rapidly become a highlight for many, this years special guests included Rend Collective who managed to fit a visit between shows in Scotland and New York; Martha Collison who has been attending for six years spoke about her Bake Off experience and the work she is doing with Tearfund, and many regular speakers such as Joel Virgo, Andrew Wilson, Stef Liston, Stu and Livy Gibbs, Adrian Holloway and many more.

newday banner 1newday have a vision to expand the reach of the event across many more churches and fellowships across the country; the showground can handle another few thousand campers so they want to see young people from all church backgrounds come together and join with thousands of others, their age, to worship Jesus.

In addition, there are opportunities for young leaders to join the event and gain valuable leadership development and experience, be it stewarding, running a coffee bar, working in the bookshop, or the many other activities available.

Over the coming year, two newday ambassadors will be promoting the event to churches and fellowships across the country, this will be through ‘newday on the road’ events held across the country to church visits where all the information required to join the event in 2016 will be given out, so if you would like to know more about newday, or know of a church that could benefit from this event then please contact newday ambassador, Sue Parker on sue@newdaygeneration.org

newday 2016 takes place from Monday July 25, 2016 to Saturday July 31, 2016, with delegates leaving on Sunday August 1. Booking for the event opens in January 2016. For more details about newday please check out their website at www.newdaygeneration.org
