Celebrate Norfolk announces changes for 2016

Celebrating Volunteering will be the theme of the Celebrate Norwich and Norfolk event on June 11 and 12, 2016, with several exciting additions to the event announced.

The flagship event takes place at Norwich venues the Forum and Millennium Plain, St Stephen’s and St Peter Mancroft church and St John the Baptist RC Cathedral.

There will also be a Celebrate King’s Lynn event run parallel to and in tandem with the Norwich event on Saturday June 11.

Celebrate project director John Betts said:  “We are excited to announce that there will be several significant changes to our 2016 programme.
“In response to our exhibitors’ wishes at this year’s event, we will be holding a one-day exhibition next year, on Saturday June 11, from 10am to 5pm.  New features include providing a staffed information point and a video presentation of exhibitors.
“We are also planning a Christian Leaders breakfast at 8am on Saturday 11 with a high profile speaker.  It will be an opportunity for exhibitors to network with those who attend.”
On Saturday evening, Saltmine Theatre Company will present their acclaimed production of “Amazing Grace”, the Story of John Newton, in St Stephen’s Church.
On Sunday 12, in line with Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations, Celebrate will hold a free picnic for charity volunteers at the Narthex building and gardens at St John the Baptist RC Cathedral.
John said: “The popular exhibition provides a valuable opportunity to increase the profile and raise awareness of the important work that Christian churches and organisations are doing both locally and nationally. Celebrate offers a unique combination of social action organisations, evangelism, resources, the arts and local churches, together in the public arena.”
