New group supports Norwich mums to pray for children
Mums and grandmothers from across Norwich are being warmly invited to an Afternoon Prayer Tea on Saturday, July 9 to find out how they can regularly support each other as they passionately pray for the lives of their children and local schools.
The Norwich group of the international ministry Mums in Prayer is hosting an Afternoon Prayer Tea on Saturday, July 9, 2pm – 4.30pm to introduce mums, grandmothers and aunts to a group which meets for an hour a week to pray to God to transform the lives of their children and local schools.
The Afternoon Prayer Tea will take place at Trinity URC Church on Unthank Road. The meeting will include an introduction from Julie Bright (pictured), the Group Coordinator, and a time of prayer followed by fellowship, tea and cake.
Julie Bright from Servant’s Church, Norwich, set up the Norwich group after previously attending a Mums in Prayer group in Mulbarton. Julie has two teenage sons and a passion for supporting them in prayer.
Julie said: “There are so many influences on our children that are outside of our control, we can’t be with them 24 hours a day, in school, in university and once they get older we can’t be with them in their leisure time particularly in this technological age. They are open to so many influences which can so easily draw them away from knowing a loving relationship with God.”
Julie continued: “Very often our children go through difficulties of all kinds – health issues, emotional issues, stresses and strains and as much as we love them, mum just can’t make everything right. We just can’t and we’re not expected to.
“God loves our children and he created them to be in his image, for his glory and his purposes, and he has plans for their lives. We have this great privilege that we can partner with him to pray for our children to see his will enacted and fulfilled in their lives. We can replace anxiety with confidence, trust and faith knowing God hears our prayers and loves our children, and that he who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.”
If you would like to find out more about how you can join this worldwide ministry which unites mothers in prayer from 140 countries come along to the Afternoon Prayer Tea.
