Hat trick for Norwich church website in national awards
For the third year running St Thomas Church in Norwich has won a national award for its website at the Premier Digital Awards on November 12.
The national awards aim to celebrate excellent Christian engagement online. The finalists were be announced at a dinner in London on November 12.
For the third year running St Thomas’ Church in Norwich has won the ‘most engaging large church website’ category. The website was also awarded 'Best large church website' in Network Norfolk's own digital communictions awards last year. Jason Baldry, who designed the website two years ago, is delighted to have won again. He said, “It’s great to have been recognised again on a national level for our work. Our mission with the website is to make it relevant to both members of the church but also a great resource to the public.... all whilst looking contemporary and not too 'churchy'.”
Another Norwich church had been shortlisted for one of these prestigious awards; newly established city church Kingdom Life was up for the ‘Most Engaging Small Church website’ category. Senior leader Dave Elverson said, “We are really pleased to be shortlisted for the award. We are a new church that only started in June. Creativity and excellence are two of our values as we believe they reflect important elements of God's character.”
“Being shortlisted for this award makes us think we might be on the right track and are starting off as we mean to go on in the way we reveal who God is to a world that desperately needs to know Him.”
