Network Norfolk joins independent press regulator

The Network Norfolk website, and its sister newspaper Good News for Norwich & Norfolk, have signed an agreement with independent press regulator IMPRESS to help ensure the quality of their work and put in place a robust complaints procedure.

The long-established Christian news website and newspaper have signed a five-year agreement with IMPRESS which means they will observe a code of standards and adhere to a complaints policy and procedure agreed with IMPRESS. It also includes a whistle-blowing policy for contributors.
It means the Norfolk publications have been awarded a ‘Trust in Journalism’ mark to signify that they meet the IMPRESS standards for membership.
IMPRESS Chief Operating Officer, Ed Procter, said: “We provide journalists and publishers with the protection and the support they need to do their job, hold the powerful to account, and speak with confidence and security. We provide the public with the reassurance that they can rely on the news sources that inform them, entertain them and represent their interests.”
Network Norfolk publisher and Good News editor, Keith Morris, said: “We have joined scores of other publishers, many of them hyper-local like ourselves, in partnering with the official press regulator to help ensure the standards of our content and reassure readers of its quality.
“If we get things wrong, readers can get in contact with me directly to put it right and, if they are not satisfied with the response, we have an established complaints and arbitration procedure to go through.”
Details of our code of standards and complaints procedure can be found here.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
