King’s Lynn churches show unity with week of events

From Friday, January 18 to Friday, January 25, Churches Together in King’s Lynn will celebrate Christian unity with daily, half hour services hosted by churches from a wide range of denominations in the town and the Christian-led Winter Night Shelter.

Later this month the Christian community of King’s Lynn will come together to pray for Christian unity and justice for economic oppression, with a week of daily services hosted by seven churches and the Winter Night Shelter in the town.

The theme of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is economic justice, using resources written by Christians in Indonesia based on Deuteronomy 16:18-20.  They highlight the inequities of a many people living in poverty in a country rich in resources.

The week will begin with a half hour service at The Salvation Army on Friday, January 18, 12.30pm-1pm led by Major Barbara Jeffery.  It will conclude the following Friday, January 25 at Christian-led King's Lynn Winter Night Shelter, at the same time with a service led by Project Coordinator Lucy McKtterick.

During the week services will also be held at the The London Road Methodist Church, Cornerstone KLBC, King’s Lynn Christian Fellowship, King's Lynn Minster and St Mary's Church in South Wootton.
