Former cop and crook to speak at Norwich dinner
A former Policeman and a former crook, whose lives were both changed when they met Jesus, will be speaking at the next FGB dinner in Norwich on Thursday July 18 at the presidential Suite of the Mercure Hotel.
Former crook and Hell's Angel Colin Pownall (pictured above) and ex Policeman Dave Riley (pictured right) will both be telling their stories of faith at the dinner in Norwich (7pm for 7.30pm).
Colin is a former drug addict and prisoner, who said he used to hate policemen. Once he had become a Christian, and a Prison Chaplain, he found that he loved policemen, and gave police officers present a big hug at the end of the evening.
"I was brought up in children's homes, then mental hospitals, then from one prison to another," said Colin. "My life was filled with hatred for all people fuelled by drug addiction and alcoholism. Before I became a Christian I broke most of the God's laws and knew I was on a one-way trip to hell."
Former Policeman Dave Riley is now president of FGB in Warrington, where Colin is a fellow member.
