Pop-up pub success in Little Barningham church
Little Barningham’s last permanent pub closed its doors decades ago, but the beer and wine were flowing in the village once again recently as the parish church hosted a Pop-Up Pub evening for the whole community.
The beautiful hilltop setting of Little Barningham Parish Church was packed as well over a hundred people of all ages came together to enjoy beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, a barbecue, music, bar snacks and good company.
The pints were poured, and the vodkas were dashed by the team at the locally based Wildcraft Brewery who also served a specially brewed church beer known as Wild Towers which was a particularly popular choice.
Here is a selection of the comments from local residents:
“We had a fantastic evening. A wonderful community event.”
“I’ve had the best time. I hope they do it again next year.”
“Good beer, good food and good weather the perfect recipe.”
Revd Jack Branford, Curate at Little Barningham Church, part of the Aylsham Team of Churches said:
“It was fantastic to see the whole community here tonight enjoying a night out, a great pint, and a real laugh. This is what socialising in a pub is all about – why not do it in a church? We can’t wait to do it again in the future.”
