Norwich Quaker to bring rough sleeping story to stage
A group of actors will be staging a performance of 'Any Spare Change' on January 19 at the Maddermarket Theatre in Norwich, based on a book written by Robert Ashton on the topic of homelessness.
Norwich Quaker and author Robert Ashton spent three months last summer exploring rough sleeping and homelessness in Norwich.
He interviewed people with lived experience of rough sleeping; those whose job it is to provide support, and others inspired by their faith to volunteer.
The book, ‘Any Spare Change’, was crowdfunded, and launched at the Cathedral on 26 November. It is on sale across Norwich, as well as on Amazon, with signed copies available from Robert’s website. All profits from the book are going to St Martins, Norwich’s homelessness charity.
On Sunday 19th January, at 6pm, Robert and a group of actors will be staging a performance at the Maddermarket Theatre Norwich, based on the book. The event is free to attend, with a book signing and collection for St Martins at the end.
