North Norfolk foodbank offers advice sessions

North Norfolk Foodbank is offering face-to-face advice sessions with Citizens Advice officers to help people struggling with the cost of living.

The Foodbank has confirmed that people visiting their centres in Cromer, Stalham and Aylsham will be able to have consultations with an adviser because they feel that signposting people in the right direction for help is just as important as giving them food.

Before the pandemic, the charity had advisers working at their centres but because of Covid, ill health and other commitments, it had not been able to restore the service until now. Thanks to a grant from the foodbank’s parent organisation, the Christian charity Trussell Trust, they will be able to have the services of a Citizens Advice officer for four days a week.

Available sessions are as follows:

  • Tuesdays : 10am to 12 noon : Cromer Methodist Church Hall
  • Wednesdays : 9am to 12 noon : Aylsham Community Church, in the Jubilee Centre on Norwich Road
  • Thursdays: 10.30am to 12 noon and 1.30pm to 3pm : Cromer Methodist Church Hall
  • Fridays: 1pm to 3pm : The Stables in Stalham Baptist Church on the High St

People seeking advice can turn up at the appropriate time and will either get to see the adviser then or arrangements will be made for an appointment at another time.
