Chance to explore worship through painting 

Enjoy a day exploring worship through creativity at a Painting with Oils Day Retreat at Quiet Waters near Bungay on May 27.

This creative day is aimed at those with no or little experience in painting with oils.
 
Starting with a time of worship, retreat leader Luis Conde will then take you through some painting basics, including materials/tools; colour theory and colour wheel; simple colour palette and colour mixing to obtain different colours.
 
After a time of mediation on God’s word you will then have space to see how that has spoken to you and to start to put an idea together of what you would like to paint.
 
After lunch the afternoon will be spent painting on canvas, under Luis’s expert eye, creating a piece to take home and enjoy. All materials will be provided.
 
Luis began his career as a professional photographer in Lisbon Portugal photographing for the advertising and fashion industry, after a short period working in a professional photo lab. Luis ran his own portraiture studio and lab in Portugal for a period of 12 years and then moved to Norwich.
 
 Luis is now focused on traditional film photography using medium and large format film cameras. He is using his own darkroom printing on silver based papers and photographic alternative processes .
 
In more recent years Luis discovered his passion for art painting especially oils. Having attended a secular exhibition he became inspired to express his faith and God’s love and light through his art work.
 
He uses oils and acrylics on canvas and cold wax techniques applying on cradle wooden boards. Find out more at: www.condephotographer.com
 
The retreat runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm on Saturday May 27. The cost is £70 per person to include lunch, refreshments and materials.
